Tracking Dogs

I have watched many videos of hunting in North America and Canada over the years. I have only once seen a bow hunter use a dog to track a lost deer. In Europe and South Africa a tracking dog is a must. Why not in North America and Canada ? There are many small breads of dogs available , which when trained can easily be transported or kept in a tree stand. Inputs would be welcomed.

The use of a trail, or tracking dog, is common practice in the southern states. Most hunters either own or know someone who owns a tracking dog.

Like Bow hunting captain said, it's a very big thing down in the South East.

I've been very fortunate to hunt the NE, SE, and SW. One thing I noticed is the hunting culture is different in every state. Sometimes cultures can be different in different parts of the states.

The reason Im saying this is over in Europe and South African, the norm or the culture of hunting over there might be use to using dogs where over here it's never even crossed peoples mind.

I also know that some state prohibit the use of tracking dogs.

Blood tracking dogs are getting more popular every year.  States are starting to get their laws changed so dogs can be allowed to track. When I retire from my current job and move I want to get a dog and train it to track. Would love to help people out If I can.

There are organizations out there for blood tracking dogs.
