if anyone has experience training a dog to find sheds, i'd love to know how you went about it. i've got a 6 month old lab and no birds (due to the drought). Need to give him a job.
I have a yellow lab that I trained and does good, she had it figured out in just a few days of working on it, She was about 1 year old when I started. I would hide sheds around the yard and house and play ball with her when she would bring me one.How ever proceed with caution , she started bringing them to me even at 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning , she is as addicted to it as I am to hunting.Also I never play fetch with any kind of sticks , balls only.that way they never pick up sticks instead of sheds.. lots of videos on youtube about it.
