Anyone lucky enough to have elk camp beside a creek that holds trout. Would like to see some pictures of camp and the creek. Unfortunately where I camp, no creeks are close that hold trout. Can drive about an hour and find a good stream, but it is great to have them together.
Maybe even a deep woods bivy camp by a trout lake/stream?

cant say that I have but I have experienced good fishing in the areas I am possibly looking at bow hunting this fall. Madison river and the Gallatin. Both right on the outsides of the Metcalf Wilderness area. Doesnt run through them but close enough to distract a guy. the upper area of the Maddison below quake lake is awesome......man I need to get back there for some slamon fly action!

I can't tell you where it is  :) but we've got a great place in Colorado where we can hunt and then fish during the day.  It's a pretty sweet setup and we always manage to catch fish.

The creek is right behind the tents.

There are some small lakes that have trout in them where we camp, But I have never fished them, I try to stay focused on elk.
maybe next time I will take a packable fly rod and try it.

You get a great packable spinning rod and reel and some lures for less than $50 at Bass Pro or Cabelas.  Definitely worth taking with you if there's an opportunity for fishing.  You don't need anything fancy to catch some small trout.

My spot hops off from a sub-alpine lake with cutthroat and brook trout.  We always camp at the lake outlet where the fishing is good most of the day.  Last year we even had two bears come down into camp to cool off and chase the fish around.  It's a very special place.  Hunt elk every morning and evening and fish in between if we make it down to camp.  Don't usually end up eating our packable meals since the fishing is so good.

We take a few hours every year to fly fish for Brookies about 1/4 mile from camp.

I've brought the fly rod out a few times, but Ill admit I'm too much of an elkaholic that it just became dead weight so now it stays at home.  :D
