Interesting question but it looks like a Rosie which might make is Typical. Where was it taken?

You can score that elk as either. The extra tines would make it a non-typical however. If you are going with a gross score and measuring every tine, then you just scored it as a non-typical.

P&Y and B&C recognize that bull as a typical.  Need to exceed 300" for non-typical.

I would have to say typical, all the points come off the main beam in the normal order just 2 angle out a little.

True but those extra points wouldn't be included in the typical score because they are considered non typical points.

We are on the same page J-rod.  They are "abnormal" points regardless of  typical or non typical.  Whether they get added or deducted depends on the other two criteria.

Who cares about technicalities, it is a great bull.  I say they should do away with minus signs all together.  The bull grew that bone.

Exactly! Gross score is the best! Water submersion would be awesome! That way you would get credit for EVERYTHING! Imagine, every burr and small point would count! Give the credit to the animal for everything they deserve! This system would be great but a lot would have to go into it to have tanks big enough! Great idea but doubt it would ever happen.
