I know the draw results will not be out until later May, however I'm feeling good about my chances of drawing a Utah Manti archery elk tag with 12 Points. Being from Minnesota and at age 58, I'm sure my Mani hunt will be my one and only and I want to make the most of it.  Any one willing to share any information about the Manti would be Greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Love the unit, but my info is a decade old and probably dusty.  Lots of big country with lots of elk.  This year is the by far the best dates to draw Utah.  You have any experience on it?

Thanks for the reply Lang!  A decade has been a long time. No idea how much could have changed since then?  I have experience elk hunting, however I've never been in Utah at all, so the Manti will be new to me. I will pick an area based on what kind of feedback I get. Also have been looking at Google earth. If I draw my tag ( I feel my chances are good) I will then order maps etc. Sounds like there are elk throughout the unit.  Right now I'm kind of thinking about the middle of the unit? Any general area's you would suggest or area's I should stay away from based on hunting pressure etc.?

Thanks

High elk numbers throughout the unit and good season dates this year. I hope you find some elk! Great year to have a tag. Unfortunately I have never hunted this unit before so I'm not much help for areas. Great looking country though. Do your homework and don't be afraid to locate bulls during the night with location bugles.

Kind of a sleeper unit IMO. There's some good bulls if you can turn them up and be able to pass on smaller elk.
