Utah draw 2017

Well I finished my app and applied for MZ hunt in Utah. Have 14 pts so have a good chance this year. Gave up on trophy area. Would have taken me 5 more years. Running out of time as I will be72 this fall. LOL. Now the wait. May 31 is a long way off. Still have NM and Colorado to go.

Hope you draw!!!

I thought I was a give in last year for the tag I wanted with 15 points as everyone drew in the past with that amount. Had a handful of guys jump in with a bunch of points and it messed up the odds.

Not sure if you listen to podcasts, but Jay Scott had a good one on last week on Utah with Ryan Carter as a guest. Very informative, talks about point creep, and what units to look at.

This year I went for points, going to go for the CO tag and use them points up.

:angle: With 14 pts would be at the top if same as last yr. Hope I do not run into same as you Don. Got enough pts for 76 in Colorado but will wait til next yr as we moved there in Dec. do not want to pay out of state fees. Can hunt as local with OTC tag this fall. Will have to watch for leftover tags in Aug. for deer. Also just put in for my NM hunt. Still have to do CO as non resident to get pt but will ask for refund. Then the wating :thewave:

:angle: Getting close now for Utah draw. Sure hope I get the tag. Looked on top rut website and saw area had 85% sucess rate. That is a great hunting info site for sure. Got my NM MZ hunt again this Dec. this year get to hunt all 5 days. No European trips planed by wife. CO OTC tag this yr. unit 61 next yr if still kicking. :train: LOL

good luck roger, hope you get all ur tags. and you will love colorado, we moved there from mo then back cause my wife wanted to be closer to family. trust me co is better.

Did not get Utah tag with 15 pts this yr. maybe next. Colorado And NM. This yr so I am happy.
