my brother and I are getting a wall tent for this year wondering if anybody has any suggestions. we really like the montana canvas tents and seen the same company makes a similar wall tent made with a little lighter canvas. does anyone have one of these tents or reccomend another brand?

I would suggest MT canvas for sure I have used them and love them.  My brother has a 17x23 and you definitely need 2 people to set it up but works great.

love to upgrade, but i can't complain to much about my army gp small and medium tents i picked up for $700 (including liners and a stove).  they are heavy, take up a ton of space in my trailer, and you need a few guys to set them up...but they sure are nice and cozy when you fire the stove up.

I use the bighorn III from cabelas with a stove and I set it up fine by myself.  Half price of MT canvas as well.

Bullhunter how are the zippers on that bighorn III? Thats one of the things we worry about with any tent we buy.

The zipper is heavy-duty and works great, they have had mud in them and still zip up fine. Definitely holds the heat in.  I havent ran into any problems as of yet and dont think i will anytime soon.

depends on your set up MT canvas does some light weight that are pretty durable. But keep in mind the things many dont think of ,what ever you buy, water proof material.seems like they always get taken down wet,are they mold resistant?,will they take a load on the roof ?a wet snow can put a thousand lbs on the roof.wind can get you also.honestly I found the natives had it figured out ,the teepee works good.and if your packing in you dont have to have a stove or poles if your in an area that you can make them.

As far as I know they only sell direct. They are in CO, and have been in business since the '50's. Their website is http://www.davistent.com/

They are great to work with, and will take the time to make sure you are really getting what you want/need.

Has any of you ever used the any of the tents from Western Wall tent?  They appear to have a fairly nice product, but you can't really tell until it has been really put to work. They seem to have comparable prices to Mt Canvas..
