I've used the Sawyer squeeze a few times for summertime backpacking trips and two Elk hunts. They work okay for smaller volumes of water but I think there are better options. Mine seems to slow down on flow quickly and back flushing was a pain with the syringe they include.
Katadyn base camp. I have used it a fair amount and don't have any complaints. It's a reservoir that is gravity filtered to it may not be the fastest but it fills a 1 liter water bottle fast enough for me. Probably in about 5 minutes with clean filters.

There might be something malfunctioning with your base camp. Mine does about a liter a minute when everything is clean and in working order. It wanes a little as the bladder gets drained but it's never nowhere near 5 mins unless it's running empty. Great filter if you have the right water source.
