Weekend Scouting Trip

Took my son up to the high country for a couple days to check some trail cameras and do a little scouting - as much as I could considering he is only four years old. Still no elk on the cameras yet, which is a little disappointing, but did run into this group of deer. Also getting a bunch of turkeys on camera, so I should at least be able to fling an arrow at one of them during the season. I am hoping the elk move into the area after getting some early season pressure, but we\'ll see. It\'s a brand new area to me, so still trying to figure out their patterns.

I was out this weekend as well. Picked up some cameras in a unit I\'m no longer planning on hunting but got a few pictures. Lots of deer and a few elk. Still fun to see what\'s on there! I did get this monster on camera though! Is he this years calf or last year? Seems too big for this year and too small for last year. He was with a cow which I assume is his mother.
