Andy
A formal greeting to you!
Thanks for joining up.
If you would, take a few min and introduce yourself and tell us about your elk hunting experiences
I am sure many would like to hear and learn!

Thank you Andy for the \"best forum\" comment on the other thread.

For the BTO family:

This is a true neutral forum where everyone/anyone can post without fear of ridicule, without fear of verbal abuse, and without fear of being scorned for postings that go against the grain.

We encourage all to post ideas, questions, and comments no matter how much elk hunting experience you have. I have over 30 years of personal elk hunting experience but with my BTO family behind me I leave for camp with 3000 years of experience.

We also need the newbies and lurkers opinions. Why....because you too have elk encounters. You also have the I don\'t understand thoughts and the I don\'t buy it concerns.

The BTO coffee shop is a place to think outside the box. And once people thought the world was flat. :D

Just my 2 cents!

Welcome Andy. I believe we have a great camp here. We mostly talk hunting, but sometimes stray on the Off Topic forum. I am pleased to say we more than respect one another. We appreciate everyone and look forward to their ideas.

Thanks for the greeting guys! I meant what I said about BTO being the best elk forum on the web. Sorry for taking so long to respond to this thread I just saw it.

A little about me. I\'m 36, married and have been bowhunting since I was 10. I moved out to CO when I was 19 and had a bit of a hiatus from hunting. A friend of mine got me back into elk hunting seven or eight years ago and I have been completely and totally obsessed with elk hunting ever since. Between the two of us we kill a bull every year. I personally like to chase big bulls. Any elk is the trophy of a lifetime, but there are few things that I love to see more than a huge bull up close and screaming his head off. There is a 99.9999% chance I am moving to Ogallala, NE in the next couple months. My primary goal this year is for my wife to shoot an elk with her bow and secondary for me to kill an elk with a trad bow.

Thanks guys. I\'m looking forward to a lot of great discussions.

Welcome Andy!
I can already tell by your posts that you will definitely have A LOT to contribute to this forum and will be a very helpful.

If you are moving to Nebraska then you are moving into some nice whitetail country too.
I know they were recently hit hard by EHD/CWD, but I know that state is still filled with great WT.

Good luck with your goals this year. I hope you can get your wife an elk. :upthumb:

Welcome Andy, great to have another hunter with your experience around here! I\'m sure many will be able to learn from you and hopefully there will be some knowledge gained on your end as well :upthumb:

Thanks guys. I hope I can provide some useful information and cohunter14, I know I will learn a lot as well.

Ogallala, NE? Well, Go Big Red.

Not a lot of public land around there, but there are plenty of hunting opportunities there, and you\'re not far from CO and WY.

HAHA! I\'ve already put a lot of thought into this. It might be the excuse I\'ve needed to hunt WY.
