Wow. Any idea how much land they are closing off to the public? Does that affect many of you who hunt Montana?

Several other private timbercompanies have closed there lands in North Idaho till the fire danger subsides. I don't know if they are posted or if you are just supposed to know somehow yourself. I also don't know who would be enforcing the closures. A lot of them did the same thing last year and when they opened them up I hiked into several and there was plenty of evidence that people had been hunting them even though they were supposed to be closed.

Region 1 in NW Montana is full of Timber company land, 3 companies, weyerhaeuser, stimpson and stoltz, I for one cannot blame them one bit for closing, it is worse than 1988.

Good to hear! I have to assume that means you guys have finally gotten some precip up that way and conditions are getting better?
