After seeing Scotts post about his gun project it made me start thinking about all of mine that I want to get done before 2015\'s seasons starts.

So with that being said, what are some of your 2015 projects?
I don\'t mean the common ones like get in better shape or save money. I am leaning more towards the ones that you need to do or your better half may not let you go out hunting

I have a very busy next couple months coming up I need to:

- Drive to Massachusetts and back to pick up the car that I had restored.
- Tear up and landscape my back yard.
- Clean and paint the garage. ALSO build some storage in there.
- Replace my brakes, rotors, speakers, and shocks in my truck.
- Finish six more online classes.
- Buy Alyssa( fiance) a new car.
- Don\'t know if this should fall under a \"project\", but GET MARRIED...
That\'s not even really scratching the surface, but it\'s a good start.

Is anyone else going to be very busy once all of the hunting and fishing ends? Have some of you already started?

Dan don\'t you know fishing never ends around here. :D

I do have some summer work on the house. Put new gutters on on paint the deck and few other little protects my wife wants done.

I have some odds and ends to putter with around the house this winter.
I have been working out in my shop a lot lately, build a fire in the wood stove and spend most of the afternoons out there.
Today I made a conversion modification for one of hang-on tree stands, it is now a climber!
Cutting and welding, Not quite done yet, but I think it\'s gonna work!

Please post some pictures when you are done Brad, that sounds interesting!

Francis, if fishing never ends up there, I need to move! :upthumb:

Well, I\'ll be moving at the end of this month into a new home that I will need to do a bunch of work on. The home itself is new, but I will need to do all of the backyard landscaping including putting in a sprinkler system, laying sod, ground cloth with rocks and shrubs and plant a bunch of trees. I\'ll also have to build storage shelves, and of course in the meantime I have to pack and move all of our crap! The good news is that I should get a new toy or two because of the move including an ATV with a plow. The new place has a very long driveway, so my days of shoveling are coming to an end I think!

On top of that, my short to-do list includes a bunch of shooting. Need to sight in two rifles that had scope changes on them, then need to finish some load work-up on one of my rifles.

Projects?

This year, some landscaping needs to be done. I have a mental picture of it, but putting it in writing and sorting out the cost hasn\'t happened yet.

I\'ve got a new Ruger M77 compact in .308 (after my dad died) and it needs loads worked-up, and glass on top, and recoil pad to add a little length to the stock.

At work, I\'m refocusing on some continuing education, and trying to do more teaching at the University. I \"remembered\" that I enjoy learning, and I also came to the realization that my job involved less of that than I would like lately as the administrative burden has taken more and more of my time. Well, I\'m taking it back.

I need to build some sort of outdoor dog pen this year. My dogs are indoor animals, but at times we still need a kennel.

  • Move in late January to my next house
    [/*:m:2g6j8ren]
  • Move stuff from storage unit...one load at a time
    [/*:m:2g6j8ren]
  • Unpack
    [/*:m:2g6j8ren]
  • Setup an indoor archery range in the basement
    [/*:m:2g6j8ren]
  • Sort through camping & hunting gear. Purge unused items.
    [/*:m:2g6j8ren]
  • Reconnect with some old friends[/*:m:2g6j8ren][/list:u:2g6j8ren]
Derek, Good luck with your move.

  • That is something that is always good to do. Life is short!

I\'ll add that to my list.

Take advantage of all those TA benefits! By the time I hit my 20 I\'ll have my bachelors and maters degree paid for with TA. Then I can transfer my GI bill to any kids that I may have.

What type of project are you looking at doing? Timber removal?

Primarily digging shallow ponds, planting native trees and grasses and installing a weir gate and levee. I\'ll have to have some clearing done before the main construction is started, the biggest issue is having enough dry weather.

I\'m 42 hours from graduating, I should have enrolled into college a long time ago. Seems like I always find excuses but I\'m over 20 active and need to start another career so a degree is a must.

Both of those sounds like great plans! Good luck on both of those goals/projects.
I\'m hoping to have my degree done within 2 years. You know how tough it can be.
12 hour work days, go home to family, gym, and still trying to balance 2-3 classes! It\'s rough, but I can\'t wait for it to be done.

congrats on the pending marriage!! best move i\'ve ever made.

and WHAT CAR did you restore?

i bought a 1981 911SC for $16k about 8 years ago. fixed it up, tracked it some, drove it some. a few days ago, a guy offered me $25k for it. i was at the grocery store. i was so stunned, i forgot to say \"YES!\"...been picking at my brain ever since.

i have a free 1969 camaro in Austin my cousin wants to give me the camaro is in a box. hahahha....and i have the urge to restore a Toyota FJ40 or early bronco. i might just do this again. my poor wife.

and pray my wife gets a job. she graduated from nursing. pray pray pray...

I want to fly to Virginia Beach to see my Daughter at the Navy School of Music before she (hopefully) graduates in March.

I\'ve always got home projects, and all my Elk Mountain tasks, but this takes priority for me.

I love the older 911s. When I was in england, I was Looking at some 1987 911s to bring back and sell. People would have gone nuts for a right hand drive one over here.

I\'m sure someone else will come along and offer you cash at some point. Those gain more value every year.

I have a 1981 corvette that I found in a garage. I paid $1000 and it only has 50k miles on the car/body. It also sat for the last 18 years. 2 years outside and 16 years inside. While it sat outside the interior faded from the sun.
So being I got it so cheap, I decided to throw some money at it. I had the entire interior restored, had it repainted, new tires, and did a general tune up. So now I have a very nice corvette to cruise around in.

It was never a car that I wanted, but I will never turn down deals like that.

As soon as I get some pictures of it I will upload them.

Now I am trying to find a new project too. Like an idiot I sold my series I I I land Rover that I owned in england, but like you, someone offered me a lot of money at a gas station and I couldn\'t say no. I miss it though.

My next toy will either be another screaming deal that I find or my dream vehicle...... a Unimog.
If you are not familiar with them, Google Unimog 406.

I have been dying for one since I can remember.

I also have been looking for third generation irocs or 5.0 GTs.

Good luck to your wife! I really hope she finds something. I don\'t think she will have an issue.
