What kind of elk are you shooting for this year?
Cow?
Bull?
Mature bull?
Doesn\'t matter as long as it fills the freezer?

If it\'s brown it\'s down! Assuming it\'s an elk! Really want to shoot a bull but realistically I\'m not holding out hope. If s blind squirrel finds a nut, that would great!

My goal is to hold out for a bull, especially where I will be hunting. But as the season comes to a close I might get a little more trigger happy. Then again if I have another fat cow walk out in front of me who knows what will happen. Only that moment will tell.

This will be a game time decision for me I think. My freezer is almost empty, but I did secure private land access and have a sept - jan cow tag. I really want a bull with my bow, and I should statistically draw within the next 2 years so... :think: If I get a perfect shot on a cow I pretty much can never turn it down!

So true! Unfortunately this year I don\'t have the luxury of a choice. Cow tag with the bow and bull tag with the rifle. The bow hunt is going to be a long shot as it will probably be in a popular area with very little scouting and very few days to hunt. If I punch one tag I\'ll be content and if I punch both tags I\'ll be ecstatic!

I will start out trying to shoot any branch antlered bull but won\'t pass on a cow after about the mid point of my hunt.

I dont see any opportunity in the B List for a bull other than the San Luis valley hunts: EE082P5-R, EM682P5R, EM682P6R

Did you get one of those licences?
