My \"used bow\" came with a few Easton Axis 400\'s. Since then I\'ve got some Easton Raiders to try out but I really don\'t like them as much as the Axis. (Of course the Axis are twice expensive)

I am getting a half dozen arrows this weekend and wanted to get opinions from you all as to what you\'re shooting. I\'m leaning toward the Axis 340\'s as that\'s where I\'m falling in the Easton chart. My arrow length is 29\", I\'m shooting 65 pounds on a Mathews Drenalin. I believe my arrows were measured at 430g with a 100g head.

What is your bow bullet this year?

A few years ago, for whatever reason, I upgraded to FMJs. I was actually planning on \"downgrading\" to a more common, general-duty arrow this year, but didn\'t get around to it. I needed a few more of something this year, and stuck with the FMJs just to avoid the hassle of \"change\". I don\'t want to carry different arrows in the same quiver.

The arrows will have FOBs on one end and 125 grain Viper Tricks on the other.

As for bullets ... Hornady GMX .30s in 165 grain.

The shooting shall commence (I hope) on Saturday morning with pronghorn season being open. The nice thing is that either of my \"bullets\" will do fine with just about anything.

Do you like the FMJ\'s? That is something I was going to look into as well.

Oh, and I meant \"Bow Bullets\", ie; arrows.

Axis N-Fused 400 regular (9gps) Total weight is 436 grains. I put some trimmer line in the shaft to get the weight up and a 125grain BH. 53DW/24DL. I have low momentum, therefore, I went with higher grains x DW total weight than other compound shooters normally do. I also want at least 12% FOC. I am almost at 13% FOC.

I have not had the opportunity to put the arrow into an animal, yet. I played with 3 other arrows, including FMJ, before deciding on the Easton Axis N-Fused. I can make my preferred arrow weight and FOC with this arrow. It shoots well and holds up well. I have used it for 18 months now.

FMJs are not all carbon and you will get people debating the pros and cons of that. I prefer to stay out of the debate.

Due to my low DW/DL, I most definitively have to re-sight and re-tune my bow if I change arrows because the weight of the arrow generally changes and sometimes the shaft diameter changes. I would never be comfortable shooting 2 different arrows. I did keep some old arrows for small game hunting.

bloodline arrows. 400 i think but cant remember. 30 inch topped off with slick trick. not sure if i will use a standard or magnum. ive got both

Easton Epic 400\'s with a 125 grain Muzzy 3 blade shot from a 53# recurve. Seems to work. ;)

28 inch Beman MFX 400s with a Rocky Mtn., TI 100 broadhead, and 5 inch right helical fletch.

Easton Axis 400\'s 29 inch draw with 100 gr. G5 strikers and 2 inch blazers. 379 grain total.

I\'ll have a quiver full for gt trad 55/75 cut to 30.5\" they are 2 fletched with feathers from my spring turkeys and will be tipped with hair popping sharp Simmons safari heads weighing in at just over 200 grains for a total arrow weight of 535 grains. shafts are also footed with 1.25\" autumn orange shafts for added durability

GoldTip XT Hunters 55/75 with GT Blazer Vanes
40gr of trimmer line for a total weight of 420gr

Axis 340\'s at 28\" with blazers and a 100gr G5 Montec CS. I shoot Epics 400 out of the recurve. I got a batch of 340 ST Excels with a bow I took in on consignment and they weigh and shoot exactly like the Axis, so those are my target/backup arrows.

I used to shoot the Beman Hunters ... cheap, but they shot well.

Anyone have a reason not to use cheap arrows?

Nope. I always tell customers I\'ve met very few archers who can shoot better than the quality of arrow. Meaning tight tolerances don\'t mean squat if your shooting 3\" groups at twenty yards. Durability is the only trade off and I see that fall when you start getting into off brand/department store arrows. (For the average Joe shooter)

Easton Axis 340 with 50 grain brass inserts. Helicals and Slick Trick Magnums. I don\'t usually shoot such an expensive arrow but found those for $3 per shaft this summer so I bought 31 of them.
