What do you do with your turkey?

Do you full mount it?
Mount the fan?
Cut the beard and hang it on the wall?
Nothing.... but eat it?

Most of the tails and beards are still in the freezer.

I have my best tom\'s tail and beard on the wall. I mounted one of my daughters tails for her all so.

A couple I have done for my full strut decoy.

I never mounted a turkey just preserved the fan, feet and beard... And yes we did eat them... :upthumb: :upthumb:

full body mount means you cant eat it right? i was told to gently lay the entire bird in a freezer and taking it immediately to the taxi.

i asked..it was $1500..sooooo i ate it.

I keep a fan or two around for using on decoys and I\'ve kept the first few beards. Not sure why? They aren\'t very attractive IMO. Then again, I have 0 mounts of any kind. I do however LOVE photos and that is the trophy from a turkey hunt, or any hunt for me. I have a buddy that has 4 full body turkeys in his bedroom. CRAZY IMO but it ain\'t my house and if he likes it he ought not to care what I think

I have a couple fans and beards from toms..... but lately I have been shooting eaters

I always cut the fan, spurs and beard off. I used to religiously clean the spurs up and thread them onto a piece of leather similar to a necklace. I saved the majority of my beards. I would keep a few fans and give the others away. I only want to have a few spare fans now for my strutter and I am too lazy to clean the spurs up anymore. I opened my beard box up and I had a big gob of beard feathers laying loose where bugs or whatever had eaten the part that kept them together. I will probably not fool with them anymore....LOL
