i have a pair of 10x42 and a pair of 12x50. the 12x50 obviously weight more, and i choose which to take depending on the terrain i will be hunting and also if i feel like packing a spotting scope. i would never consider weight an issue on binoculars, always buy the most quality glass you can afford. also get those things mounted on a tripod. you will be amazed at everything you miss trying to freehand glass.
