When I go elk hunting I carry a deer tag and a cougar tag, along with my license. I often have a bear tag, but I have no desire to shoot one. The State seems to have no plan for requiring a tag for those that just urinate on their bears. It has just not caught on as a major sport yet. If I see any fork horned buck or better, I will shoot them if it does not interfere with my elk hunting. I don\'t chase deer much at all. In other words they have to walk right in front of me if they want to get shot. Any cougar would be great to have.
What tags, other than elk do you carry, or plan to carry with you on you elk hunts, and what is a shooter for you?

I never hunt deer and elk in the same season. It limits my time hunting. I always considered a mature buck (muley) more difficult to hunt than elk, so I like to give them my full attention.

What i\'ll always have with me is a small game license so I can kill coyotes when I see them. I have no use for predators that kill fawns and calf\'s.

Wolf tag if I go to Idaho. Would love to have a mountain lion tag though. One of these days!!!

If I\'m out deer hunting I am just shooting coyotes or bob cats.
I also carry a turkey tag.

woulda loved to had a moose tag a time or two. but alas,i just carried what you had swede. now, if you got a bear thats needin shot and you just dont have time, lol

I only have a elk tag when I\'m out hunting. I could get a bear tag, but the cost of a non res bear tag compared to what I can shoot one here for I can\'t justify buying one.

I forgot that I do buy a small game so I can shoot a couple of grouse for a camp meal.

Well, actually our WY wolf hunt was suspended late last year ... back to the courts, etc.
