In your area, when will the deer start dropping their sheds?

I believe where I hunt in OK, they should start dropping their headgear around the end of March!
I cannot wait to go see what I can find :D My dogs are itching for a good shed hunting season too.

Ironically saw two bucks yesterday one had both sides dropped and still a little bloody and a small 3 point had one side on one off. Colorado
p.s. earliest I have seen I believe

Thanks for the heads up!
I wonder if other areas see earlier dropping than normal.

They are dropping early here also. Talked to my cousin in Missouri a week or so ago and he had bucks on cam that had dropped already. He said it was earlier than normal.

I feel its similar to the rut, its a bell curve. There are always some that drop in December and some will hold till late March with most being in Jan-Feb. Last year I found one in early jan and then had a buck on cam holding both sides March 26.

I think I read it has to do with their testosterone levels which could relate to when the last hot doe was around.

3x0 mulie in the neighborhood today. Missing left side. I have not seen the big boys lately. Usually, I see more the day before a storm, however, I wasn\'t home on Saturday to see them passing thru.

A wildlife biologist told me the same thing. If the rut is over sooner for a buck or bull, they will drop their antlers earlier.
