Where are you shooting?

This isn\'t a test. There are plenty of pictures out there telling you where to shoot, but none of us are the same.


Where are you shooting at this bull? 20 yards....

Raise your spot about 3 inchs of so and that\'s where I would be aiming.

I watched two guys hit high lung last year and the blood trails weren\'t the best.


That\'s why I\'d like to focus on the bottom 1/3 of the lung!

I think thats more heart area, maybe low lung, or maybe a miss if you happen to shoot lower

I definitely don\'t wanna shoot lower haha
I was thinking I was low lung. Then if I went down a few inches I was heart!

You are when he drops 2-3 inches.

I give at least 3 inches from the bottom line just to clear hair, muscle, and bone.

I like your windage, but would give just a tad more elevation -- like Cnelk -- to allow for mis-judged distance. Even with perfect distance, 2-3 inches up hits a very vascular place.

I can\'t see Dan\'s spot for some reason on my phone but I am shooting pretty much dead center height directly above that elbow joint. I plan to aim exactly where the elk is...not like I do whitetails....which is where I expect it to be. He he he.

I like to lean closer to half way up. I shot one exactly where Dan\'s dot is years back and lost him. This bull was dead down in less than 5 seconds and lifeless in less than 10. The pic looks a little higher than it actually was but this is where I aim. Like Mark said, don\'t compensate for movement on elk.

Hit em here and there will be no blood trailing. This is probably 4-6\" above Dan\'s dot
