Hey guys so I ordered the Summit Viper SD finally.

I\'ve heard nothing but great things about the stand so pulled the trigger to get one.

I used CHEAP ladder stand last year and I couldn\'t stay more than two hours in one. The seat was about 12\"x8\" and the foot platform was a little bigger. Cheap 60.00 stand. I got rid of it and upgraded I\'d say.

Hoping this stand is great as everyone says.

Which straps should I get to help carry it ? I will be walking 1-2 miles one way with it on my back.

I would tie the stand on an old backpack that has some sort of padded straps over just some nylon straps
Heck, strap it on your daypack or pack frame

Aren\'t you an army guy? Molle 2- Gen 4 frame. It will haul any pack made plus an elk quarter or your tree stand. They are rated for a 100 -120# load. Someday I\'ll post some pictures of how I rigged mine up if I can ever figure out how to do it.

I agree. I have the Summit Goliath and have used the straps with it. They are ok for a short trip but I would strap it to a real pack like Brad and Bill said.

I just use the straps that are supplied. If not supplied there are several after market straps available.
