Which unit

Should I hunt a unit that has a 2 year burn but low success rate and low bull/cow ratio or hunt a unit that has a high success rate and high bull/cow ratio but no burn?

Tough choice. 
If this was an area I could scout activitly I?d be checking both because the low cow/bull spot with the burn is a big interest. 




However if you?re going in blind my answer would be hands down the high success with high cow to bull ratios.

I wouldnt go by Colorado's posted success rates one bit

I would try to do some more research on population densities and trends, and call the biologist. You can?t kill elk that aren?t there, even in a burn area.
