i didnt draw a tag. i\'m over it. time to flip my ballcap on backwards and inside out.. and RALLY. time to rally!

i am thinking hard about OTC tags. CO is on my short list. i am going with my brother and a friend. my brother and i have been exercising religiously, my friend, not so much.

my brother and i are willing to hike high and hard. but in reality to accomodate my one friend..a truck camp basecamp will probably save his life. :)

what are my first moves in locating a decent CO elk spot. call biologist? cruise google earth?

i did locate a decent spot in ID that could warrant a second look. we didnt find many elk, but we did find a promising valley system there with minimum blow down. i dont like blow downs. not at all.

for a pie i will send you cnelks gps coord, lol, plenty of elk here. seems like whats closest to you. im in durango in southwest co now an have seen alot of elk driving around. but i hunt in northern co. you will do fine anywhere. the otc tags are good for any unit that are otc.

What kind of pie?

:haha: Brad, I literally couldn\'t stop laughing at that post. A pie would be more than you normally get for advice though!

Cliff, what kind of hunting are you looking for? Archery, ML, Rifle? I think you\'re an archery guy, but couldn\'t remember...I might have an idea though...

Fruitcake?

If you sent me a fruitcake, I would send you into spots that you would probably never return :)

Brad ... fruitcakes make good targets for broadhead testing.

Of bait for skunks if you\'re into skunk trapping.

Sorry Cliff, I posted an idea above, but unfortunately that area will not work. Looks like you have to draw for tags there.

this i could mail. hahah..

I could ask my relatives to mail it to me, but their not asking me to take them hunting :lolno: . I go third season rifle your welcome if that will work.

i\'m a bit of a sausage freak, and i am not sure i\'ve had Portuguese linguica..haha..oh, i am a bowhunter..you rifle guys, esp you third season guys..love it cold. how much snow do you expect then.?

and Still Hunter..love to share some pie with you. apple is also my favorite.

this thread was really a \"woe is me\" thread about not drawing tags.

i\'ve rallied and come up with some cool ideas..two in Colo, and one in ID. i am going to kill my non-hunting buddy. one colo idea is really outside the box.

and to the ones kind enough to PM me great \"jumping off points\"..i totally appreciate it!!

look for me..i might be there this summer looking for a flat camping spot, and doing some prelim scouting.
