Who\'s shooting?

Who\'s doing much shooting?

Me? Not any. It\'s cold, windy, and generally nasty here. I enjoy shooting arrows in the summer ... I can shoot at my place out further than I\'d ever shoot at an animal, and can vary the shots to include \"real\" field shooting. (I would get very bored with an indoor 15- or 20-yard range in about 5 minutes).

Rifle? Not shooting that, either. I\'ve got a few hundred prepped cases that need some powder and bullets ... perhaps this weekend I\'ll work on that.

In general, I know that some advocate year-round shooting, but I\'m more of a summer-shooter, and I don\'t think it has limited me much.

I will once all the snow melts here and it warms up. I usually don\'t have much problems with grabbing my bow and making a good shot to 40 yds without shooting for a while. I practice in the summer to improve on my over 40 to 60yd shots. It is hard to shoot over 40 in the areas I usually hunt. I still practice just in case I have a clear shot at 50 or 60yds.

If the weather is nice enough, I shoot everyday outside in my yard.
Mostly my recurve - add in the compound now and then

I can go home on my lunch and shoot a few arrows, have a sandwich and go back to work.
Nice way to break up the day

Good way to stay sharp for turkey season coming up next month!

I try as much as there weather lets me. Just starting to get comfortable with the new bow.

I\'ll start shooting in April.

Last year, after a two year absence (due to arm injury), I was able to keep the arrow\'s in a 4 inch circle at 30 yards the first time out.

This is about as far as I want to shoot, but will practice out to 60 yards.

Weather permitting, I\'ll shoot some nearly every week. With turkey season only a few weeks off I\'ll be a little more diligent . I\'ve got a nagging bow arm shoulder issue so being pretty conservative with the quantity of shots, but strive for a few quality shots.

I am not a great archer, therefore, I need to shoot weekly.

Late last summer, I developed target panic. Unless restricted due to post op restrictions, I shoot close up in my basement 2-3 days a week to keep bad habits at bay. Because of tears in my bow shoulder, I switched from quantity shots to low number quality shots.

I normally shoot year round at our archery club\'s outside ranges. This winter, I had to stop shooting for 6 weeks after ear surgery and developed cabin fever for the first time. I like shooting outside year round. Shooting inside is not very interesting to me. Our club has 4 walking ranges. It keeps away the cabin fever to shoot year round while walking through the woods and prepares me for those below freezing elk hunting mornings.

After my shoulder surgery two years ago, I have slacked way off.
I used to shoot over 200 arrows a week, now I may shoot that many in a year!
Turkey season coming up so I\'ll be checking the tune and making sure that I can place an arrow in the x at 20 yards in the next day or two. After turkey season, I\'ll start to shoot a few arrows every week until the elk of plains deer season in Dec.

Me and the kiddos just got back from the DOW range at Pueblo Reservoir. Beautiful day for shooting and stretching some strings! It felt good putting some arrows in the targets

Still waiting for the weather to break here. The snow has just melted off but the March winds are the problem now. So the best time to shoot is early and late before the winds kick up. But it\'s still pretty chilly then, hi teens to twenties.

But, when we have a nice day, I have a good outdoor target range with an excelsior bale for field points and Styrofoam blocks for broadheads. I have yardages marked out to 80 yards and a big pile of horse crap behind the target to catch those stray arrows when the grandkids shoot.

Sure is nice living out in the country!

I\'ve got no excuses, it\'s a beautiful day here.
Going to go dust off the bow right now, thanks for the motivation :upthumb:

I\'m stuck at work enjoying a boring day watching \"elkrsafe\" do his magic.
Sent my bowsights back to back to spot hogg for work anyway.

It\'s windy and about 40 degrees here. I\'m puttering around the yard and shop. Got some new arrows and glued inserts in them. Then shot a few times in my barn at short range, worked on form with my recurve

Way better than I hoped for, I shot at 40 yds and 20 yds, and managed to mostly stay in the 10 ring at 40.

Time to incorporate shooting into my routine!

Just got home from my mom\'s house got unlimited yardage out their, my place 50 yards. still sighting in new sight I\"m pretty close have too wait for a light to no wind day too be positive. Shot about 4 hours today and been shooting all week. Have about 250 to 300 shots out of new bow, might bring it back too dealer and have timing rechecked they told me anytime after a 100 shots. Feels good too get out again.
