November is coming and we all know that\'s magic whitetail time.
So to help you with your battles, BTO wants to give away another custom grunt call!

To enter the contest please write:
- Your favorite 5 days to hunt in November?
- When you\'ve have the most success in November (Morning (Sun up to 10), mid-day (10-1400), or evening (1400-sunset)?
- How many deer you\'ve taken in November?
- How many of you have been successful with calling or rattling?


For example:

My favorite 5 days to hunt where I am are Nov 13th-18th.
Mid day
4 deer in Nov.
I have not called or rattled in any deer with calls... yet.


Winner will be selected Oct 20th.

I\'ve never kept any type of journal for deer hunting so I can\'t answer half of your questions with any accuracy... A well thought out SWAG (thanks Bill I did remember) is in order for them... :D :D

1) I can\'t really break it down to 5 very easy since I NORMALLY use to hunt more than 5 days in Nov... SO SWAG 1) Nov 18-22 I\'ve killed a lot of deer the week prior to Thanksgiving...

2) NO SWAG here... Mid Day....

3) I\'ve deer hunt off and on since I was a kid (10 or 12) and am now an Ol\' Arky (69 goin on)... Let me cipher.... SWAG 2) 40 or 50 or 60 or... :geek: :geek:

4) Another NO SWAG... Never used any type deer call.... So if I win the grunt call I\'ll let Dan send it to the 1st one of ya to guess \"How many deer I\'ve killed in November since the turn of the century... Year 2000 that is...\" since I do know that number due to my oldest sons record keeping.... :lol: :lol:

I may use SWHAG from now on Bill.... :haha: :haha:
 
I will say the first 5 days since around here I really like the last week of Oct better.
Morning probably has been best but evening is real close.
Not sure on the exact number but around 20.
I have had some luck using doe blats. Rattling has only brought in young bucks and does for me.
 
1. 5-10th depending on weathere
2. i saw more deer in the mornings (although that has more to do with where i was hunting), but bigger bucks from10-2 by far
3. no idea how many ive killed in november. im guessing 20-30 over the years. nov is rifle season in mo and i was mainly a bowhunter so most of mine were in oct with a bow.
4. never had any luck with calling em in. not saying it doesnt work, just never worked for me

2. I see more deer in the evening in my area.
3. I have arrowed approximately 38 deer in November.
4. I have only rattled 1 deer in. I have called in about 12. Last year I called in one and made a 17 yard frontal shot that went through the heart and out the bottom of the chest in front of the second to last rib. :D He lasted about 7 seconds :shock:
 
Here in MN we like to call them corn fed beef!

First 5 days of November for sure....big ones get spooked more each and every day once firearms season is on.
Early morning
12-15 some does when I was younger, mostly bucks now
Called in a few, only one of which I shot. They seem to be slightly smaller than the dominant buck, and a little less weary!

Never know when the situation will arise to need a call though, always have one with and ready!

Our main rut in south Arkansas normally occurs about the 2nd or 3rd week in November or before Thanksgiving... That\'s normally... I have seen bucks chasing doe as early as the 1st muzzle loader season but have NEVER killed a buck chasing or following (there is a difference) a doe earlier that Oct 20th at least since my son started keeping records... I have killed bucks as early as Oct 1st since that\'s when or archery season use to start... But i do remember killing a buck one opening day of archery season when there was frost on the ground in south Arkansas... Ain\'t seen frost Oct 1st in a long , long time...

Let me get away from the rant and hijack... :lol: :lol:
 
Don\'t know how many I have killed in November but oddly enough I have killed more bucks early season. The first 2 weeks of November are my best times and I definitely see more deer then but I have shot more deer in October than any other month. The buck I shot last year was in November and I rattled an 8 pt in and killed it about 8-10 years ago in November. Shot quite a few does in November but have no idea without looking at my notes as to the exact numbers. Almost every deer I have grunted in has been in late October with a few in November.
 
Nov 3-7
Evening has been best for kills but have seen some of the biggest bucks in the morning.
Killed 12 in November
Grunted in and shot a buck on Nov 7 one year.
 
This may look like I\'m copying Seth, but the 3rd through the 7th would be my pick if I had to narrow it to 5 days. Evenings as well.

I have no idea how many I\'ve taken in Nov. as I haven\'t kept track. Probably in the neighborhood of 80% of them though have come in Nov.

I have rattled in one small buck in my lifetime so far. Don\'t even try to anymore. I guess I\'m old school. Something about moving and making a bunch of noise in my stand seems all wrong!

I have been pretty lucky in the contents lately. :upthumb:

If I did win I\'ll have Dan draw again and I would give it to the next winner.
 
Favorite days for November: - depends on weather... all things being equal Nov. 4-8
Morning
Killed in November is 20+
I\'ve rattled in some really nice bucks - late Oct and early Nov. It\'s either crazy good with rattling or completely dead - just my experience
