Fires are pretty bad around here and smoke can get pretty thick dependingwhere you're hunting. As far as elk we were only able to call one in this weekend but they are talking a little bit so it doesn't seem to be affecting them much at least where I'm Hunting at. Smoke is just a little hard on the lungs but I wouldn't let it discourage you. Good luck!
