I hope I can kill one so we can continue on with \"guess his score threads\"
but as a new guy still, I don\'t have very good antler length identification tools yet.

So with that being said....

I am at least guessing these will be over 200\" once they rub their velvet off. Am I at least correct with that?

small 6x6 ^

another 6x6^

5x5^?

5x5?^

6x6^

6x6^ but still early june?

I don\'t have much to base off of, but my guess is if I have a good 5x5 with good mass and tine length to match, it\'ll make 200\" or better.
With that being said, anything 6x6 that is fairly proportionate, should also make 200\" or better?

Am I crazy or am I on to something?

Take the one that shows up @ 1:45 AM. Hope he hangs around until daylite!

But remember, where the bulls are now doesn\'t mean they will be there later. My golden rule is to scout for cows. (Where the cows are now is where the bulls will be in September)!

If we are already getting cows on trail cams with the calves is it safe to say we have a area that should still be good come September?

That\'s quite possible so long as no one buggers them out of the area. But usually the bigger bulls don\'t show all that much interest in cows until they shed their velvet. There will always be younger bulls that hang with the cows. ie: spikes, 3 and 4 pt, and often even a 5 pt. once in awhile. But as soon as that first cow comes into estrus, the big boys show up and chase most of the babies off.

I\'m not to picky this is only my 2nd elk season the 1st didn\'t even allow any shots. So I will be happy with ones that get ran off.

Bill,

I hope I can find that bad boy too! Or any of the others! :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb:

As for the cows. I know where they are sneaking around and bedding ;) I\'ll definitely be using that to my advantage once the bulls start breaking loose.
The bull to cow ratio in this specific spot is way off. Way more bulls than cows...... so it should get very interesting ;) :upthumb:

From the camera pictures we have so far, you\'re absolutely right.
We have a few good groups of cows, calves, and the random 3/4pts.

My goal is to go find that big bull running them off and try to piss him off even more with some of my bugles ;)
Coming fight me herd bull.... :mg:
