Winter Park

Took one of my employees up for a ski trip to winter park today. Looked elky! It\'s my understanding that the forest service owns the ski park. Can you hunt it? I looked all day for elk rubs but didn\'t see any. Kind of hard to tell because the snow looks to be 3-5 feet deep in different spots. Anyways, it was a great day skiing and fun imagining chase elk in the timber!

You can\'t hunt in ski area boundaries. They have it leased from the FS. Winterpark in particular is a major mountain bike destination all summer and fall so the elk probably don\'t hang in there too much as is. I think the resort is in either unit 28 or 18. There are elk in both, but they get hammered.
