Wow !!

That\'s all I can say as Wapiti River Outdoors and Phelps Game calls came into the World Elk Calling Championship with Thunderous Bugles and absolutely are from here on out the calls of the Pro\'s !!

Jason went at it full force with unmatched Lipbawls !! I\'m not sure which reed he was using but took everything Jason could throw at it !!

Travis went the other way with Lipbawl screams and ear piercing high notes that shook the foundation of the Las Vegas Convention Center !! I was using the Black Widow and Pink Lady for all my cow sounds and I used our new reed coming out this spring for all the trade shows called the REAPER !!

If you guys want the calls the Pro are using give Phelps and Wapiti a call !! Your calling will be on a new level and your confidents will soar sky high.

Absolutely no offence intended with my comment is intended here.
My wife is a very good musician. I guess with a few minutes of fiddling, she can make music come out of any normal musical instrument. I have seen her line up regular tin cans and play a song on them. I could sit down at the piano all day and not learn any significant song. In this world of pros promoting everything and anything, especially if they are paid or sponsored, what they are tooting on is not real important to me. What we need to know is how well they work for novice and average callers.
Thanks and congratulations on the accomplishment at Vegas.

You are 100 % correct Swede as guys that are good callers can do anything they want on reeds whether they are single, Double or even Triple reeds.

I think different than most guys do pertaining to reeds. I prefer to have forgiveness built right into my reeds. Now some may ask why do we need forgiveness built in ? Well if your new to calling with reeds or if your have a bull coming in fast to your location most are scared to call either in front of there buddies or to keep that bull coming down the trail with a simple cow mew. Pro\'s are no different on stage as there nerves are on an all time high that you can not practice for.

You start to shake and your hands are sweating and you just hope something comes out of your mouth that resembles an elk sound !! We all get nervous.

Now the reeds from Wapiti have that kind of forgiveness built in so whether your a pro or just love going out in the woods and calling to elk. The frames and the tape and the stretch of the latex is what makes the reeds easy or hard to use. Sure you can get sound out of all of them but some are easier than others. Also some reeds can seemingly last forever while others are blown out after a day. This the next level i\'m talking about.

I used the reed I used at worlds for 3 weeks prior to the competition and then still used the same reed on stage and hit every note just like the first day I opened the package !! If fact I almost just used the Reaper for all my cow sounds but thought that would be unheard of to use the same reed for my cow routine and my bull routine. So I used my PL and BW Reeds instead.

But I can tell you I use the Reaper for every thing while out elk hunting from cow and calf talk to lip bawl bugles and barks. I don\'t like to fumble with multiple calls out in the bush.

Now when you have a product for everyone that can do all that because the forgiveness that is built into the reed itself......you have a winner for everyone !!

I asked Rockie if he was using his new reed at the worlds and he said no as I didn\'t have time to practice and get used to it. Well like I said up top I think different on my reeds !! Built in forgiveness !! I didn\'t want to invent the wheel.....just build a better wheel !!

Thanks Travis. Again congrats on the great accomplishment. I often wonder when something is designed for the pros. I know if I had a set of pro golf clubs, they won\'t make me a Tiger Woods or Arnold Palmer. Setting me down at my wife\'s grand piano does not make me a musician.
I thought the only good diaphragm for me was one with a palate plate, so for years I used the ones sold by Will Primos. The Larry D. Jones calls did not sound near as good. Last year I used some I got from Glacier Country Outdoors. They fit great and sounded outstanding. They fit me very well. I do like the idea of having a forgiving diaphragm. Sometimes I need more than that. I need mercy.
Again thanks for your response.
