I checked my trail camera again and I had another visitor this week.
He was also one of the bulls that came thu last week.
I thought I noticed his left antler was weird and this week it shows he only has 2 left brow times, one is pretty long.

Who would shoot this elk?

That\'s not nice Brad. Those are the bulls I fear the most opening week. Itchy fingers....
I would like a bigger bull, so I would prefer to NOT see that. :shh: I\'ve passed on numerous elk, but truth be told I have not passed on one that big yet.... so his odds are not super high of surviving. Broadside....20 yards....flaunting it. Not nice...not nice at all.

You would be happy to know that he is looking at one of my tree stands, about 15yds away :)

I would!!!!

Brad, are you in a low pressure area? The reason I ask is you frequent your spot a lot to pull the pictures....

I would be so worried that me being in there too much would effect it. That\'s why I check mine around every 3-4 weeks as it gets closer to season.

I would consider it a high pressure spot, but they are hidden enough that I have to use my GPS to find them each time :)

Well I am very interested which one you end up dropping!

Good luck!

Maybe. I thought they had to have for points on each side?

There have been many, many Colorado bulls that have lived to see another day when hunters say this !

A bull is legal when 1 of 2 circumstances occur....

1 - He has 1 brow tine that is 5 inches long [typically there are 2 brow tines on each antler]

2 - He has 4 points on ONE antler

The first thing I look for when a bull comes into view is the brow tines.
If he has ONE that is over 5 inches, he is legal, regardless of how many points on the the antlers.

A bull that has 3 points on each antler is still legal IF he has one brow tine that is 5 inches long.

yep, my cousin let a 3 pt walk by at 30 yds last year cause of that. when i told him bout the brow tines i think he got a little sick, lol.

Hmmm, it could be the fact i\'m looking at it on my phone, but I swear I see five legal points on one side. The (albeit pathetic) branch antler is longer than wide at its base.

Please correct me if i\'m wrong...

Brad-Thanks for the info. I had a goal of 5 on one side so I knew that would make legal. He looks respectable for a first bull. Muzzy on the way!

Yep I would shoot. You can\'t eat them horns and I could do some fishing and scouting for next season.
