wow. non stop.
feel kinda bad, i barely saw my wife
she had girl-stuff all weekend and i had my thing.
friend raced his 911 porsche, and played in a band. great music. lead singer is a lady with so much grace..she moves..NO she glides. i cant stop staring at her. neither can the rest of the room. hah. i didnt get buzzed because the next day was:
more guy stuff. PIG HUNTING!! met at a wine country ranch. this place is better in the evenings, so we spent the day sighting in my pellet rifle..BUT two shots in, the trigger fails. no more trigger. gun is done. i put it away CRESTFALLEN!! i was thinking..how bad can customer service be for a rifle from Turkey?..the country!! oh-o!!
silver lining..toy gun is broken, so i fired a few arrows and went hiking. right out of the cabin wind was howling left to right. i wanted to hike to a small pond in the middle of a dark redwood forest. step into the wind and just to my right..about 20 hogs get my wind and run. i was bummed..i walked a few feet and BAM..i see a big marbled color hog at 28 yards. i had an arrow loaded so fast, and was coming to draw..it had enough and ran. it was in my jetstream smelling me..i cant believe it stood still as long as it did. i got my heart-rate back to normal and headed to the pond. the pond was milky from the hogs rooting around. i tested the wind and sat down..i sat for several hours, but nothing. i see a hole in the ground about the diameter of my thumb..huh! i poke it with a stick. i was running before the second yellow jacket came out. haha. i was like Usain Bolt!! gone!! i was laughting until i realized my Leica binoculars were still at the wasp hole. !$#!$#!$. i went back after 15 minutes grabbed my optics and ran away like a little child.
i got to a ridge line and glassed back towards where i saw the pigs. i see them again heading to the cabin. i sprinted back..i got there found my friend that has a rifle..drag him to the next ridge and got there just as the pigs are sprinting by. it was an awesome sight. 20 hogs running. all sizes. he knows the ranch so he gets his truck and we race to the other side and glass back..there they were!! we crept up a hill to about 40 yards. ducked into some trees and crept closer and closer..peeked out, arrow ready..should be sub 30 yards. gone, vanished..how does 20 hogs vanish? i crawl into the forest and hear them trotting away thru the dry leaves. the sun was gone..hunt over. it was so much fun!! i cant believe how much running i did with a loaded day pack.
shooting my bow, my rig is on. i am now used to focusing my eye on the target and letting the pin get fuzzy. my accuracy leaps ahead now!! way better. i leave in a few days for texas. deer and javalina. bow hunting.
when i get back i have to send my bowsight in to have that last pin changed from a red 0.10\" pin to a green 0.19\" pin.. red halos for me now. it is \"okay\", since i put the target in the center ring of the halo
sorry i am rambling.i just got of the phone with the pellet gun store, (pyramid Air) and was sad to find that i have to deal with the Turkish gun company.
