Wyoming grizzly units

It\'s come to my attention that sometimes Wyoming has leftover tags for units that have grizzly bears in them.

My question is, are people scared of the grizzly bears or do they hinder the elk population?
I have zero experience with grizzly bears, but if the units are good, I\'d almost want to go attempt these units and chance the bear encounters.

I mean hey, thats what dual S&W .44s are for :D

No personal experience with those units.

Personally, I don\'t want to hunt around grizzlies ... just too much in terms of camp control. But the units in the NW part of the state certainly have plenty of elk. Most of those units have a LOT of Wilderness, making a non-resident sort of unwelcome -- unless they rent a guide.

But there are spots, for sure, and a person could do well hunting those areas. Hunting where the ranches butt up to the mountains might make good sense.

Thanks, John!
I like the idea of a LOT of Wilderness!!!

Having a LOT of wilderness is great ... for residents.

But if you\'re a non-resident, you\'ll need a hired guide or a \"resident guide\" to accompany you. It\'s that strange Wyoming wilderness hunting law.

But ... I\'ve heard that portions of ground up there are the furthest you can get from a road in the lower 48 states.

Im tracking now, so it\'s very similar to how Alaska runs their stuff.
Unless you are a resident, you need to hire a guide.

Could still be really cool though. Thanks again!
