At least you are close to black bear country for Missouri. Our elk herd isn\'t all that far from there. I checked on shed hunting and it\'s legal. I\'m thinking about doing that this spring. I\'ve never looked for elk sheds, bound to be easier to find that a WT.

Look at the bright side of it Scott. Ever since I left southern Illinois 35 years ago, I have missed the great catfishing. Also Bass and bluegill. Love those warm water fish. And usually around the first of August is when squirrel season comes in back there.

OK!, so they ain\'t elk! But you can hunt antlered field mice. (aka: whitetails) LOL! And the season last 3 months and you can take several.
