this is my third time. (V6 only) i do it per the owner\'s manual recommended frequency..35kmiles. why? not because i expect them to be worn out, but because i have night terrors thinking about seized spark plugs. i would not want to leave them in place for 100k miles.

this is the first time i did it on a warm motor. talk about SCARY!! i think the warm motor gets the metal to expand somewhat. the plugs came out clean, but everyone of them was a butt-pucking moment. they came out kinda tight! like the metal was galling. i hated feeling the resistance as they unthreaded.

i hand threaded the news ones in, seated them and uttered a thank you prayer. another 35k to go..i just reset the clock.

I HATE THIS DIY project..but the $300 the shop wants is robbery.

i had enough. the DIY gear oil change in the differentials and transfer case can wait. my heart cant handle the nerve bomb. hahahahha.

oh, i do use a tiny bit of anti seize for insurance. not much. i should use more.

I have more problems with sparkplugs in aluminum heads. I always use Anti Seize on all of my sparkplugs. Just a little will do and never had any problems.

Hmmmmm! Makes me wonder if I should change them out in my 1986 Chevy PU. Still has the originals in it. :haha: :haha:
