AB had a post on here about spike camp food. I presume he was talking about food you could just add hot water to and make a meal.
If so, I have a couple of suggestions: Get on Youtube and type in (canteen cup cooking). Once you have read everything there, type in (homemade MRE) That should...
Been thinking about one but would like to try it out before I take the plunge. I have questions as to which would be best, an ENO 1 or an ENO 2.
Also, I have an Oware 8x10 siltarp. Will that work to cover overhead? And will I really need the under quilt for September elk hunts. or maybe get by...

Have any of you seen or tried this stuff? I wonder if it has an odor.
For me it is a Helle Futura sheath knife with an elk antler handle that has an elk ivory imbedded in the pomel that I made myself. It never touches anything except elk or deer.
My camp knife is a Mora. Both knives have a Scandi grind that not only takes a good edge, but they keep it as well.
I have often wondered how close an elk has to come before the rest of you guys consider it to be a legitimate call in. I have known so called elk experts that have shot elk at distances of 70 yards and claimed they call it in.
So here are my views. For me, anything that is called in to a...
Troy from Glacier Country calls joined Elkmentors a few weeks ago. And I\'d like to give him a big wELKome.
For you guy that may not know him, he is one heck of a caller and elk hunter. And his son? All I can say is WOW! That kid could blow any of us self proclaimed buglers out of the water...
Have you ever done something while elk hunting that was so off the wall stupid that it actually worked? Here is one I tried several years ago and believe it or not I was able to fool two young bulls with it.
I had just sent out a location bugle from a ridge over looking a pond and an open...
A lot of guys leave some good neck meat in the woods every year. And it can take a long time to bone a neck out not to mention dull a knife really fast. So here are two ways I have found to save time and still get most of that neck meat.
1) cut the head off at the base of the scull and cut the...

Guys, you gotta love this one!
Here is the recipe for home made scent eliminator. It works just as well as any of the store bought stuff and cost about $2 bucks or so for a whole half gallon.
1 quart of hydrogen peroxide
1 cup of baking soda.
1 quart of distilled water. ( I have also made it with tap water)
1 tsp. of...
Several years ago, I had an old friend, Jim Finn. Jim had invented a totally new concept in tree stands. It was a very small package that would fit in your pocket. It was inflatable, very lightweight, and easily attachable to a tree. You simply climbed up the tree using two Velcro straps to...
I\'m sure many of you may have seen my post on another website about bow tuning. But for those that may have missed it, it could be a good idea if you bookmark this one.
It is <!-- w --><a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http://www.bowtuningtips.com\">www.bowtuningtips.com</a><!-- w -->. It is run...
Thanks for the forum Brad ! I\'ve been wondering where I could spend my spare computer time. LOL! I\'m glad you and Dana hooked up. Dana really knows his stuff when it comes to computers. And he isn\'t too shabby when it comes to mapping programs as well. (thought I\'d slip a word in edge wise...
