2022 whitetails
I wasn't having a ton of luck with whitetails most of the season. I had been out quite a bit but hadn't seen anything bigger than a spike and hadn't seen any scrapes or rubs. Bull elk size
I agree. 7x7 and in the 340ish range. Whats big for elk? 400 is huge and not an elk your likely to ever see unless your hunting really great, hard to draw units. No changes for me. OTC deer and elk in Idaho. Possibly buying extra non-resident tags to use as second tags if they are available. (They have been hard to come by recently.) I'm planning on building my house next year so how much time I will have during hunting season is a question.- ribo451

2022 Hunt Update Thread
I still have a cow tag that I am trying to fill. I have seen 7 bulls and called in 2. I still haven't laid eyes on a cow. I thought the cow tag would be a piece of cake to fill. 2022 Hunt Update Thread
I've been out 3 times. I caught a glimpse of a couple elk I spooked. That's been it for elk. I have seen a handful of deer and 7 black bears. Lots of bears in this area the last couple years. Other than that the only things to report are extreme heat (for north Idaho) and billions of hornets...- ribo451

Idaho draw are out
I drew a 5 month any weapon antlerless tag for elk. I was thinking about not picking it up but I don't know how much time I will have to hunt during Sept this year so I guess I will get it. Anybody else have terrible luck in drawing tags?
Idaho big game draw results came out today and once again I swung and missed. I put in for a really great elk tag so wasn't surprised not to draw that one. I also put in for an extra antlerless whitetail tag and didn't draw that one either. Last year the odds on drawing it were really high...- ribo451
