Took this bull on October 6, 2016, region 7B BC. Was able to set up above the herd and watch for 6 hours until he finally showed himself.
There were two satellite bulls that stayed just outside of the group of cows so I knew there had to be a bigger bull than the 5x4 and 3x3.
I froze my butt...
I am wondering what experienced hunters do when facing a situation where a small to medium sized herd of elk is either milling around and feeding or slowly moving away and feeding in brushy terrain? Lets assume its 6:00pm and have 1.5hrs to darkness.
I hunt northern bc rocky mountains/foothills...
