Thats my September this year.
6 days \'early season\' in Colorado before 10 days in the backcountry of Wyoming, then back to Colorado if needed.

Is this achievable? Doable?
What would my odds be to fill all 3 tags?

Would you try?

Absolutely! Just watch out for Grizzlys!
I love to elk hunt, but I try not to hunt in Grizz country.
Many years ago, a wildlife biologist told me, why would anyone want to hunt in Grizz country
When there is so many places to hunt without them. Kinda lived by that motto.

I agree, it\'s absolutely doable.

You have plenty of due diligence in CO and Deertick has been out scouting in WY a bunch.
The work has been put in, so now you can take the rewards, which I think both of you will tag out!

I guess something to ask would be, what are you goals.
If you told me you wanted to take two 400\" bulls, one from each state, then I might now be giving you the same answer.

Going to be a great time and anything is doable.

When I have multiples I always tell myself its the journey, not the destination. In other words i don\'t put too much pressure on myself to fill the tag, but enjoy the hunts.

Pictures and videos will be appreciated even if they only show your ugly worn out boots :D

Yes, I think all your tags will be filled. I hope your freezer is big enough.

You\'ll get done what you want to and enjoy every minute of the experience. Hunting the entire archery elk season in 2-3 states is one of my goals in the next 4-5 years. I figure I\'ve got about that much more time of building my business to the point where I could be gone 5-6 weeks at once. Longest I\'ve done so far is 18 days. It was awesome.

Can\'t wait to read your stories and see the pictures. Best of luck!

It sounds like a formidable task. The odds are pretty long, but if anyone can do it, it would be you. How picky are you going to be? How prepared are you for Wyoming?

Sounds like a lot of fun! I have faith in you. Knowing your experience and effort towards elk hunting puts the odds in your favor but it won\'t be easy. I am giving you a 2/3 odds of all 3. I would give you 90% to get 2 of the 3 filled. This is just an arbitrary guess but that is my bet...

For me, I am not there yet so I wouldn\'t try to fill 3 tags. I have a hard enough time filling 1... if I wasn\'t trying to nail my first bull with a bow and having a rifle cow tag most years this may be different though.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for the votes of confidence everyone!

I picked my 2 Colorado elk tags this morning. One E/S and one \'B\' list anterless.
This option will open up my \'pickyness\' :)
Opening weekend [2 days] I hope to fill the B list tag, [unless a legal bull comes in begging to get shot]
The 2nd weekend [4 days] I will continue to try to fill any remaining tag{s}

Ahhhh.... Yes.... Wyoming.... 10 days
I am SO READY!
That will be decent bull only for me.

After Wyoming, that leaves the last weekend [2 days] of Colorado to finish up.

Thats the plan... Gotta have a plan....

brad, i would say your butts gonna be dragging your tracks out. but, after its over with you can look back and smile

I think you can get it done. :upthumb:

Are you going to do a post of your journey like you have in the past?

I will post updates for the early Colorado hunt, but we got a little something special planned for the Wyoming hunt
