Idaho general archery season is a little less than two weeks away. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. I just started using trail cameras last year, and I'm having great success with them! I also used tree stands over wallows for the first time last year and was successful, getting my first ever archery elk. The next two weeks are really going to drag for me!

Here are a few of the bulls on my cameras to wet your appetite, and get you fired up for the coming season!

Wow, you got yourself a honey hole there! Only got cows and calfs on my cam, hoping the bulls show soon.

Bow_dozer, having cows and calves around is a good thing. The bulls will show up as it gets closer to the rut.

For some reason, this area I have my cameras in always has a high number of bulls. There are cows, calves, and spike bulls around also, but I get more single bulls and bachelor bull herds on my cameras than I do cow/calf herds.

Last year I didn't get many photos of cows and calves, and only got photos of a single spike in 14 weeks of running my trail cameras.

I'm getting more cows, calves, and spikes this year, but the bull photos are still outnumbering them. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I love seeing all of these bulls on my cameras!

Good luck to all the tag holders!

That looks awesome. Bulls with cows and one bull that looks like he's bugling. Not helping the fact that I still have to wait a couple weeks to chase them.

Dates on cams are all off. All from 2015.

My cams have been out for over a month here in Idaho and I haven't been able to check them due to work but hopefully this coming Friday i can run up and check them. The anticipation is killing me.  Maybe ill have a nice big bull like you got on your cams.

Arrows4elk, I re-size them in Photoshop to be from 1000 to 1500 pixels wide and I save them using a feature called "Save for Web" that allows you to save them at a decent size for viewing, but reduced file size. My photos are hosted on Photobucket.com and I link to them in my post.

The bulls are mostly hard horned (antlered) now and are really starting to hit the wallows. A couple of the bigger bulls in my area went AWOL in the last two weeks and are MIA. I hope they re-appear during archery season! Here are a few photos, and a video I put together from one minute video clips from my camera. I hope they fire you up for archery season as much as they do me. Enjoy!

I like this first one because of the antler reflected in the wallow water.
