2017 KY whitetail hunt (semi live)

No bobcat tag? That would have made for a unique mount!

The season isn't open right now.  I know they are pretty good at killing turkeys, but I don't think I could ever shoot one.  They are real fun to watch!

I couldn't pass anymore!
I keep getting so excited when they come in.  This doe came in solo and was looking good.

She will make excellent summer sausage. Yum!

I was shocked when I found out that Dan shot a doe today. Lol

You put that Tactacam to use?

So I managed to turn it on yesterday when that buck came in. Here's a picture of him about 16 yards away.  It's a frozen screenshot, but you can see the deer.

I will get it one of these days.

When my blood gets pumping and I go into kill mode, I can't shut it off! She was a nice doe and solo.... I wasn't going to let her by!

I'd like to report that Daniel had the least amount of blood on him I've ever seen after a kill. He normally looks like he climbed inside the body cavity. Just a few drops here and there......and he had a knife and a flashlight with him.

Good job Daniel. Good luck this morning. Stay off your phone and pay attention so you don't miss a buck peeling off in front of you that need shot!

Ok.... next time I saw I'm going to hold out for something.... don't believe me [emoji23]

Today was rifle opener in Kentucky and I couldn't resist.  Because of my work conference next week and my Oklahoma bow hunt, this was the final day I had to hunt.

I got set up down in a nice area and the morning conditions were PERFECT! 25 and crisp.

Right at first legal light I had an 8" spike come in to about 25 yards and just look at me for about 5 minutes.  He got a pass.

Then around 8:15 I did some grunting and a nice buck came towards my direction from a different corn field.  The only issue was he never got into a shooting lane for me.  He ended up going into the corn behind me and went down wind.  Because of that and some other excitement caused actions, he ran off.

At 10:15 I had a doe enter the field.  I watched her for a few minutes and then a buck came in.  It was a small little fork.
I watched them for about 10 minutes JS figured nothing else was coming in.

I didn't want to shoot the fork and the doe was looking nice so....

Here's the fork I passed.

I had an absolute ball.  Thanks again Bowfreak (Mark) for letting me hangout with you guys.  It's always a great time up there!

Now I am heading home to my lovely wife and baby to spend 36 hours with them, clean all my gear, and head off to Texas and Oklahoma.

I'll try to do a little semi live thread for Oklahoma as well.

It's always a blast Dan. So glad you were able to shoot a few deer and hang out.

By the way....he will be busy cleaning .......

I agree with you Dan, companies need to contact you as a product tester. If you can't break it, it's good. Lol!

Congrats!!

Looks like you may need more than 36 hours to clean up  :wtf:

And "Thanks" for serving. Its Veterans day, but it should be Veterans day every day!

Would you believe me if I said I didn't wanna clean it because it would wash the good luck off?

It's not the case, j just always forget [emoji23]

That's why I buy the synthetic stock.... I can beat on it as much as I want and it have to take care of it!
