2018 Elk meat pole

Just wanted to let you know. Just got back from the Northern Rockies in BC, near Ft Nelson with a nice 5x5. The bush was pretty quiet but 2nd day of the hunt this guy responded immediately to my bugle with the Rocky Mtn tube and the Contender diaphragm. Using the knowledge from the Elk101 Online UEH course, I played the wind, got up on the same level, and then cow-called him in to 88 yards. My 3rd elk  with a rifle but the first one I called in by myself. I'm ecstatic that applying what I learned on the course actually worked perfectly on the first elk encountered on this meat hunt.

Opening morning New Mexico. 7am at 20 yards. Just home for a meat drop,  quick shower and heading back to camp to guide. Will be back home on the 12th or until everyone tags. Story to come!
Look forward to hearing the story and heading down to the land of enchantment!

First trip to Wyoming was successful. Not much of a story, got him to bugle about 1 pm, shot him at 2:30, got the last load to the truck about 11. I will definitely be going back so there wont be many details shared  :-D .....
