2021 Hunt Update Thread

That was the toughest elk hunt I?ve been on.
The Oklahoma mountains are low, but they are covered in cobblestone rocks and we got unlucky in that the temps were in the 70s and pushing 80 all three days. The treed areas in my unit were barely passable, nothing like a timbered north facing slope out west.

I saw elk, missed one at a long (for me range) and passed on a few calves. Normally this hunt sees 70-90% success rates. The hunters in my unit only went 3 for 9. I?m more sore than after either my Colorado or Wyoming hunts.

I?m also really mad at myself as this is a once in a lifetime draw and I failed (again) to kill an elk.
