Planning a trip north of the Brooks range in AK for my dad?s birthday next year. Anyone have any experience with any outfitters/pilots in that run that area? We?re planning on flying in, staying for 10 days, then flying back out. It will just be 3 of us in camp, no guides. Also looking for any recommendations on any gear anyone wished that they hadn?t forgotten.  We have most hunting gear as we both do a lot of mountain hunting but we have to pack light I believe most outfits are limiting us to 75lbs a piece including rifle. So far Arrowhead Outfitters is our best looking option, any others we should consider?

Granted, this was a moose trip and not caribou, but it's a good read with some good info: http://www.elk101.com/forums/index.php/topic,7279.0.html

I've never been to Alaska but certainly jealous! I'm sure others who have been up there will chime in with some thoughts soon.

I was reading that and it does have some great info, looking forward to hearing from some others have been in contact with Brooks Range Aviation and they seem to run a jam up operation (at least from my conversations with them)
