Thought some of you could relate to this?!?

An Ode To Opening Day, by well me
Twilight cometh
Boots laced
Puts a smile on my painted face
Headlamp on
Bow in hand
Can’t wait to survey the land
Hiking in
Weighted pack
Relish the feel on my back
Sunrise comes
Anticipation at it’s best
Steady breeze outta' the west
Branches break
Heart starts to race
Squirrels dropping cones all over the place!
Calling sequence
No response
Start to sit back on my haunch
Flash of tan
Is it a bull or a cow?
Oh it’s on now!
Vanishing act
As quickly as they appear
Nothing but their white rears
Hiking out
Branch to the face
Adding insult to injury cobweb in the eyes feels like mace
Successful you ask?
No tags were punched
No inches measured
But Hunting’s a journey
Where new memories are made
Always so gratefulFor His blessings and opening days!!!
