Here are some things to look for that you may or may not know. Lets see if you can add to the list.
1) Can you tell if an elk is a bull or a cow when you can\'t see their head? Many people think the bull is lighter in color. Some times it works and sometimes it doesn\'t. But one sure way is to look at the belly and legs. Bulls are always darker colored in those areas.
2) When glassing mule deer at a distance, the white or lighter marking just above the nose really shows up on a buck but not so much on does.
3) Watch a deer\'s tail. Just before they move, they will twitch their tail. This is true for both muleys and whitetails.
