Anyone Fall turkey hunting?

I know people like hunting spring turkey hunting more than fall, but is anyone hunting fall turkey?
Or is it more if one walks by it\'s gonna get arrows :D :mg:
 
I wish I was. I\'m seriously considering taking the shotgun out this weekend. They will have a good chance of not getting shot though. I\'m going to have to pull a Dan and shoot lefty. :lol: Never shot left handed before.

use to every year, but havnt fall turkey hunted in a long time. they are pretty easy to kill now, at least with a shotgun.
 
Last year I hunted my buddies farm and forgot to pick up a over the counter 5 dollar turkey tag. I had over 20 birds come in one evening and they roosted in the tree I was hunting and all around me and I just sat there and watched.

This year I will not make that mistake as I already bought my tag
 
I went out and sat in one of my stands this morning. It was more to just get out of the house than anything and check some trail cams. Never saw a deer while on stand so I work my way back to the farm house where my pickup was parked. I\'m looking for a couple of Toms that have been hanging out around the hog pen but I don\'t see them anywhere. So I\'m at my pickup taking off my hunting clothes and am thinking to myself I\'m going to talk to the owner and his wife to see if they have seen the turkey\'s lately. I turn around to pick up my backpack and there is a flock of 20 turkeys walking out of the woods onto the hay field 50 yards away. Go figure. The owner is in the yard and says go shoot one. I tell him that\'s not hunting to me but if I see them back in the woods I\'ll definitely take one. There was one tom in the flock which seemed a little strange for this time of the year.
 
I found a small flock of Toms today on public land and decided to run in and bust them up and see if I could call them back. First part worked good. They scattered different directions but I saw one run behind some dead fall trees so I ran up to where I saw him go and he took off running but didn\'t get far. I prefer using my bow but I don\'t mind having the 12 gauge bark once in awhile.

haha! Jacob, the youngest, is coming with this year! im not buying tags until hes filled out ;)
