It's early in the morning and you hear some movement up ahead....

Bow hunters.... this bull steps out at 32 yards.
Muzzleloader hunters.... this bull steps out at 97 yards.
Rifle hunters.... this bull steps out at 206 yards.

Using the weapon of your choice, are you shooting this bull?

Rifle = dead bull

Muzzy = dead bull

Bow = if you hit the correct spot things should be good. However off just a couple inches and the outcome could be not so good. I am going to be at full draw and wait. Be ready to bark or cow call to stop him. I would rather have quartering that much away than toward. I'm waiting for a better shot.

Agree. Except I?m not sure if I?d shoot anyway since he busted off his brow tine  :lol: Just kidding.

at that angle with either of the guns and adequate load development I'll kill him... don't think I'd do it with archery tackle at 32 with his near-side leg what it is but to each their own.

This is a tough one, Dan. I think I would be waiting on a bigger window with archery tackle.

I'm waiting with my bow. He's calm and probably will offer a better shot.

For sure not dropping the string until he turns a little. Those shoulders look too big to drive an arrow through.

I bow almost exclusively bow hunt elk and would pass because of the angle or wait for a better one to present itself.

I am very much out of practice with a bow, something I am hoping to change here in the coming year, so if I had to make the decision based on my current skill level I would pass on the bow shot. The other 2 I would take in a heart beat.

Archery I?d want to take the shot but think I?d wait for a little bit less angle. Rifle done deal.

I believe with a bow that I would wait for a better angle to take a shot. But I would be dying to let one fly!

As an archery only I'd have to wait for a better angle, not much room for even a little error on that shot
