I'm going to purchase a bino chest pack and I was looking for input from some of you that use them. I have narrowed it down to three brands. Sitka , The Alaskan Guide, and Badlands.
Thanks for the input!!
I've used the S4 lockdown now for two years I love it but I just ordered the FHF Gear one I think its a better product we'll see but take a look at it fhfgear.com
I have the S4 Lockdown X. However I took off the harness and redesigned it so now it attaches to my pack. Now I do not need to put on the harness then my pack.
Like decoste77, I use a FHF Gear bino harness. I had them make it custom out of some mountain mimicry camo fabric I had. Did I need it to match? Of course not. But it looks great, and they did a great job. I also had them make a bear spray holder and range finder case. I am pleased with how comfortable it rides. received my FHF bino harness today it is such a top quality product I'm giving my S4 harness away, I recommend this product to anyone that wants the real deal.
i have tried a few and i always go back to the cheap strap only kind from cabelas. I find all the extra protection and pockets to get in the way. I like to put on my harness then put my jacket on over the harness. when i need my binos i pull them out my jacket. when i am not using them i zip my jacket and they are protected and out of the way without any extra weight, bulk or gear needed.
No I dont hunt early bow. I usually hunt 3rd week in september in Colorado. But coming from South Louisiana its 95 to 98 degrees in September so even if its 60-65 degrees outside I still need a light jacket or ill be freezing. I havent had any trouble with the straps streching out. Mine are 6 years old.
