Bow and Arrow Hunting magazine - at news stands now

I looked at wally world today and they didn\'t have it. Going to keep looking.

Swede, I gotta admit thats what I do sometimes. Is that actually stealing? Don\'t tell me if you think it is. :silent:

Mainebrdr, if the publishers were worried about it they\'d put it in plastic wrap. They\'re hoping you\'ll find enough interesting info to buy it.

Not stealing from me because I get paid on acceptance or publication, depending on the publishing company. So steal away!

I figure about the time the magazine police threaten to come and run me off, I will tell them \"ok, I just need take my wife now and go home\". Reading at the store has never been a problem.

Great read, Lou!

Dead ram walking if you draw that sheep tag ;)

Derek, I honestly never had him scored but within a few inches give or take of 315, I\'d say.

Finally got a chance to pick up the magazine today. Great article Lou, very well done! :upthumb:

Thanks, guys. Now that I\'ve lured everybody out of the backcountry and turned them into road hunters, maybe the wilderness areas will be like the \"good old days\" again! ;)

Maybe if I\'d included a photo of the 353 bull I killed 1/2 mile inside a wilderness? You\'re right, cohunter, after investing $6000 in clothes and backpack hunting gear those guys aren\'t likely to bother us out near the roads..

And that\'s just fine with guys like me, Brad, and Matt!

I\'m right there with you Lou! That cracks me up that you took a 353 bull 1/2 mile into a wilderness area. I\'ve always said if I hunted wilderness, I would go less than a mile into the wilderness and jump off the trail and hunt there. Easiest way to escape everyone who is hunting the area!

Full disclosure - it was in a prime limited entry unit. But I should have killed a 330 bull last year that I called-in right on the wilderness boundary in a regular unit. Just not quite in my recurve range.

Two years ago the biggest bull killed in CO with a bow came from a zero-point unit, called-in by a relatively inexperienced bowhunter about 1/4 mile from a popular ATV trail and about five miles from my cabin. That bull grossed 382. You don\'t have to bivy-in ten miles to find solitude and big bulls. Just have to get away from other hunters, however you do it. I guess that was the point of my article.

A good friend has gone 6 for 7 on bulls doing just exactly what you describe. He jumps off the trail and takes a 90 about a mile in. Never sees anybody, either.

Not surprised! What part of the state are you in Lou? I always hear you talking about being in the mountains, but I don\'t think I\'ve every caught where you are at.

Lou, maybe you should write an article about \"Workouts for the car camper\" or \"Nutrition: It matters for the car camper, too!\" ... maybe some exercises for pulling the pull start on your ATV. You might get a \"following\" of sorts, and at the very least, I\'m sure you\'ll get a few free beers when you visit other camps.
