Camp Comfort

don\'t worry jeff, I have your back.... :D
13 days here.... I did go to town one day and get some real food and a shower :silent:
camp sets up and takes down so easy.... :D

Thanks Gary. I was able to set all that up in about an hour and a half this Year, then hunt all afternoon and evening.

I could certainly haul more crap, but it would mean more camp maintenance, which is time I do not have.

There were only 3 days that I came back to camp long enough in the daytime to use the shower tent. I am usually hunting from dawn to dusk, and I get back to the truck in time to eat a Mountain House and go to bed. I really just need a place to lay my body to get my 6 hours sleep (if that much).

steve and terry did bring a couple of items that made life easier....... :silent:

A lot of nice looking setups. I plan to camp at the trailhead next year similar to Jeff\'s setup. I wish I had a long bed or wasn\'t 6\'4\" as I would by a cheap topper and rig it up with a bed.

I don\'t mind tent camping at all but I am not crazy about the big bears. Of course I hunted this year with my buddy who is a ranch manager in WY. He had too much knowledge of all the spots where the grizzlies had killed cattle. It seemed like everywhere we hunted that I thought didn\'t have bears there was always a story about at least one in the past. I think I would have been more comfortable just being ignorant. Oddly.....I didn\'t even think about them when hunting, just the thought of one poking his head in my tent. Lol!

Yep :D

Alcohol stoves take a little longer than propane and if you are by the truck. Why not?

my \"big\" hunts are always with my brother.

he has a pop up camper. one of the jacked up off road versions. you still freeze your butt!!

it has two beds. creature comforts?
2000 watt honda quiet generator.
electric rice cooker
coffee machine
easy way to charge things like radios and GPS.
lights.

cooking, we use my big camp chef stove. it rocks.

camper has a shower but the pump is very janky. it ssucks. we dumbed it down. heat up some water. put water in a couple of gallon jugs with holes poked into them. it is a decent \"pour\" shower. kinda nice to have a shower stall to stand in.

some of you guys have palace living!! i love it. bathroom stuff....we have a shovel.
i\'m young and flexible enough to crap squatted..hahhaha.. TMI.

In my recent trips out to Neb bowhunting, each 3 day trip I packed a cooler and made a bed in the back of my truck.
It rained, froze, hot and cold.
Sure it wasn\'t great to squirm into your clothes each morning. But I considered it a challenge :)
But I slept well and I too am young enough to have the shovel and bush for the daily routine.

i\'ve slept in my truck bed. i have a tacoma and if i close up the tailgate,i have to sleep corner to corner. it is not super great. i use a 4\" thick DREAMTIME pad from Thermorest and it is pretty epic, but a topper has bad ciculation. it gets kinda damp in my truck.

i went three days last year and when my brother drove up in his big diesel pulling his pop-up camper..i had my gear moved over in record time!! i think it took me a solid 30 seconds. phoosh! i was over truck sleeping.

as a minimalist. i went 10 days on MH food. OMG, it was not good. and i am sure i put an extra raffle ticket into the cancer lotto drawing. that stuff doesnt even taste natural :) first thing i ate was an In-Out burger and that felt and tasted like REAL food. scary. hehe.
