The horses we due to arrive so we then dismantled camp and packed up gear.
Im sure everyone had the same feeling I did, as this part of the hunt is never easy.

Our extraction party arrived on-time so we packed up the horses and made our 5 mile walk out.

So there it is guys....
A classic \'You dont have to kill an elk to have a great time\'

I will never forget the time we spent up there. The Cabelas Alanak tent was an \'Ark\'
It was a true game changer for keeping us dry and out of the wind.

John and Eric were a major part of the \'success\' - we all laughed like boy scouts on their first adventure.

The gear was tested, our tenacity was tested, and we all passed.

There will be more pics and vids posted in the upcoming days, once I get the SD card from John\'s camera

There will even be a VIDEO KILL SHOT that I made on a grouse.

We hope you enjoyed the adventure as much as we did.

If you have any questions about anything, let us know!

Let\'s face it: it was a TOUGH week. We were beat by weather and by hunting pressure. The elk were quiet, and that was disappointing.

BUT ... it was a great time. It\'ll be one of those times that gets better and better with time.

Great job toughing it out guys...took me back to my horseback hunts. Horseback hunts are more work for sure but the fun factor is that much higher also. Kudos and two thumbs up to your wife John...not having to worry about horses while you?re out hunting is huge and was icing on the cake for you guys (you guys owe her big time :upthumb: ).

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing the story, I enjoyed the pics and videos. As stated a successful hunt doesn\'t always mean harvesting a animal. Glad you took the time to bring us along.
